Dynamatic Bundles
Dynamatic Bundles is a powerful tool designed to boost your Average Order Value (AOV) by offering smart, customizable bundle experiences directly on your storefront. Instead of selling single items, you can encourage customers to buy more by combining related products, offering strategic discounts, or giving shoppers the freedom to build their own perfect kits.
Whether you want to sell a fixed set of items or a "build-your-own-box" experience, Dynamatic provides the flexibility to create the perfect offer.
Where It Works: Webpage, Cart.
The 4 Flexible Bundle Types: Dynamatic offers four distinct bundle types to suit different sales strategies:
Bundle Type | Best For Whom? | Creates a Real Product? | Best Use Case |
Bundle Builder | Merchants who want a full, custom bundle page or section (e.g., Mix & Match, Build-a-Box). | No | Gift boxes, custom kits, build-your-own sets. |
Prebuilt Bundle | Merchants who want a fixed bundle that behaves like a standard product. | Optional (Yes/No/Link) | Classic "Buy these 3 together & save" offers. |
Addons Bundle | Merchants wanting to add frequently-bought-together items or upsells directly on product pages. | No | "Complete the look," warranties, gift wrapping. |
Bundle Builder Lite | Merchants needing a quick & simple mix-and-match solution without advanced design options. | No | Small stores or testing bundle concepts. |
Playbook
Stop selling ingredients; start selling the recipe. Customers often want a complete solution, not just individual parts. Dynamatic Bundles removes the friction of finding matching items by grouping them into a single, high-value offer. Whether you want to let customers mix-and-match flavors or offer a pre-packed "Starter Kit" with a 15% discount, Bundles makes the upsell feel like a service, not a sales pitch.
The Menu: Which Bundle Type Do You Need?
Before you build, choose your strategy. Dynamatic offers 4 distinct bundle engines:
Bundle Builder (The Flagship):
Best For: "Build a Box" or "Mix & Match" (e.g., Pick any 6 cookies).
Power: High customization, tiered discounts, and multi-step layouts.
Experience:
Prebuilt Bundle (The Classic):
Best For: Curated sets (e.g., "The Holiday Skincare Kit").
Power: Can generate a "Real Product" in Shopify, making it great for inventory tracking and SEO.
Experience:
Addons Bundle (The Impulse Buy):
Best For: Complementary upsells (e.g., "Add Batteries" or "Gift Wrapping").
Power: 1-click addition directly on the product page.
Bundle Builder Lite (The MVP):
Best For: Quick, simple offers without complex logic.
Power: Speed. No tiered discounts, just simple percentage off.
Strategic Use Cases (The "Plays")
Play #1: The "Inventory Balancer" (Bundle Builder)
The Concept: Create a "Mystery Box" or "Sample Pack."
The Logic: Allow customers to pick 3 items from a specific collection. This helps move stock while giving the customer perceived freedom of choice.
Configuration: Use Collection Import to quickly populate the builder with all items in a specific category.
Play #2: The "Clean Cart" (Prebuilt Bundle)
The Concept: Sell a 5-piece kit but keep the checkout looking tidy.
The Logic: A cart with 5 separate line items looks cluttered.
Configuration: Use Prebuilt Bundle and select Product Configuration > Create Product. In Cart Display, choose Merged with Base Product. The customer sees 1 item ("Summer Kit") instead of 5 loose items.
Play #3: The "Service Upsell" (Addons Bundle)
The Concept: Sell a warranty or "rush processing" on the product page.
The Logic: These are high-margin, digital/service products that require zero shipping weight.
Configuration: Select your high-traffic products as Triggers and your service product as the Addon.
Bundle Builder
The Bundle Builder is our most versatile option, allowing you to create custom "Build-a-Box" or "Mix & Match" experiences. Follow these steps to configure, style, and publish your bundle.
Step 1: Create a New Bundle
Navigate to your Shopify Admin > Apps > Dynamatic> Tools> Bundles.
Click the “Create bundle” button.
Select “Bundle Builder”.
Enter an internal name for your bundle and click “Create”.
Step 2: Choose Your Layout
Decide how this bundle will be presented to your customers.
Layout Type | Best Use Case | How to Implement |
Full Page | Recommended for large bundles. Automatically generates a dedicated landing page. | After saving, click “View page” in your bundle list. You can link to this URL directly in your store navigation. |
Section | Best for embedding a bundle onto an existing page (e.g., Homepage, Product Page). | Copy the Bundle ID inside the app. Go to Theme Editor > Add Block > Dynamatics Bundle Kit > Select “Section Bundle” > Paste ID. |
Step 3: Add & Organize Products
Click “Add products” to populate your bundle. You can source items from:
Individual Products: Hand-pick specific items.
Collections: Import full collections (ideal for "Pick 3 from this collection" logic).
Product Feeds: (Advanced) Use dynamic feeds created within the app.
Organize with Categories
For the best user experience (UX), organize products into logical steps.
Create categories (e.g., "Step 1: Choose Base", "Step 2: Pick Flavors", "Free Gift").
Drag and drop products into their respective categories.
Optional: Set minimum and maximum quantity limits per category to guide the customer journey.
Select Product Display Type
Choose how products are visually arranged on the storefront:
Tabs: Displays categories as clickable tabs at the top. Best for bundles with 3–6 distinct categories.
Sections: Displays categories stacked vertically with headers.
Infinity: A single, endless grid with no visible category separation. Best for simple lists.
Step 4: Set Discounts & Pricing
Define how the pricing changes as customers build their bundle.
1. Choose Discount Type
Fixed Discount: The discount remains constant regardless of quantity.
Tiered Discount: Progressive savings (e.g., "Buy more, save more").
2. Choose Discount Method
Method | Function | Example |
Fixed Amount | Subtracts a specific dollar amount from each item. | $5.00 off per item. |
Percentage | Subtracts a percentage from each item. | 15% off per item. |
Set Price | (Popular) Sets a total fixed price for the bundle, regardless of individual item costs. | 5 items for $49.99 total. |
No Discount | Groups products without offering price incentives. | Curated gift sets. |
Example: Tiered Discount Setup
Tier 1: Buy 2+ items → Get 10% off
Tier 2: Buy 4+ items → Get 20% off
Tier 3: Buy 6+ items → Get 25% off + Free Gift
Pro Tip for Tiered Messages:
In the final tier's success message (Default: "Congratulations! You got {{reward}}") do not remove the {{reward}} placeholder. The app automatically replaces this with your specific offer (e.g., "25% discount").
Step 5: Configure Settings
Fine-tune the behavior and visibility of your bundle.
Cart Appearance:
Multi BAP (Recommended): Adds items as separate lines in the cart. Best for inventory accuracy.
Cart Transform: Groups items under a single bundle name. Best for a cleaner visual look.
Page Title: (Full Page Layout only) Edit the public-facing title. Note: The URL handle cannot be changed after creation.
Audience: Restrict visibility to specific Customer Tags, Countries, or leave as "Everyone."
Schedule: Set a Start and End date for limited-time promotions or flash sales.
Step 6: Save & Publish
Click “Save” to apply all changes.
Switch the status toggle to “Active”.
Your bundle is now live!
📝 Appendix: Adding a "Section Bundle" to a Product Page
If you chose the Section layout in Step 2, follow these specific steps to embed it:
Open your bundle in the app and copy the Bundle ID (located in the top-right corner).
Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize.
Navigate to the page template where you want the bundle (e.g., Product Page or Homepage).
Click “Add section” (or "Add block" depending on theme structure).
Select Apps > “Dynamatics Bundle Kit”.
In the block settings on the right:
Set Bundle Type to “Section Bundle”.
Paste your Bundle ID.
Save. Customers can now build the bundle directly on that page.
Pre-built Bundles
The Prebuilt Bundle is designed for curated collections where you control exactly what the customer buys (e.g., "The Complete Skincare Set" or "Summer BBQ Kit")1. Unlike the Bundle Builder, customers do not choose their own items; they purchase the specific set you define.
Key Differences from Bundle Builder
Fixed Contents: You define the exact products and quantities included.
Real Product Creation: This tool can automatically generate a standard Shopify product for the bundle, allowing it to appear in your store's collections and search results.
Configuration Settings
When setting up a Prebuilt Bundle, you will encounter specific settings to determine how the bundle behaves in your catalog.
1. Product Configuration
You must decide how this bundle exists within your Shopify admin:
Option | Function | Best For |
Create Product | Automatically creates a new product in your store for this bundle4. | New kits that don't exist in your catalog yet. |
Link to Existing | Connects the bundle logic to a product you have already created manually5. | Bundles you have already set up with specific SEO or descriptions. |
No Product | Applies discount logic only, without creating a standalone product entity6. | Simple grouped discounts without inventory tracking complexities. |
2. Visual Settings
Bundle Product Title: Name your bundle (e.g., "Holiday Starter Pack")7.
Custom Image: Upload a main image to represent the entire kit (optional)8.
3. Cart Display Options
Control how the bundle appears to customers during checkout:
Merged with Base Product: Shows as a single line item (the bundle product) for a cleaner visual experience9.
Separate Line Items: Lists every individual component separately in the cart10.
Discounts & Scheduling
The remaining settings for Discounts, Audience, and Scheduling function exactly the same as the Bundle Builder11. Refer to the Bundle Builder Guide for details on setting up tiered pricing or availability windows.
Add-Ons Bundle
The Addons Bundle is designed to drive impulse purchases by suggesting complementary items right on the product page. This is the ideal tool for "Frequently Bought Together" sections or offering essential extras like batteries, warranties, or gift wrapping.
Concept & Usage
What it is: A widget that suggests extra products customers can easily add to their current purchase without leaving the page.
Best For: Increasing the average order value (AOV) of a main product through low-friction impulse buys.
Key Features
Automatic Placement: Once configured, these bundles automatically appear on the specific product pages you select.
1-Click Action: Customers can add the upsell item to their cart instantly with a single click.
Consistent Customization: This bundle type utilizes the same versatile Discount and Design settings found in the Bundle Builder, ensuring a cohesive look and feel across your store.
How to Configure
Select Trigger Products: Choose which main products will display the addons.
Select Addon Products: Choose the items to be offered as upsells (e.g., "Add a Warranty" or "Add Batteries").
Set Discounts (Optional): Apply a fixed amount, percentage, or set price discount to incentivize the add-on.
Publish: Save your changes to make the addons live on your selected product pages.
Bundle Builder Lite
Bundle Builder Lite is a streamlined, lightweight version of our full builder, designed specifically for speed and simplicity. It creates a mix-and-match experience without the complexity of advanced design options or tiered logic.
Concept & Usage
What it is: A stripped-down version of the Bundle Builder that focuses on getting a bundle live quickly.
Best For:
Small stores needing a simple solution.
Testing a new bundle concept with minimal setup time.
Simple offers that do not require complex steps or logic.
Key Simplifications
Unlike the full Bundle Builder, the Lite version has specific constraints to keep the process fast:

Discounts | Fixed & Tiered (Buy more, save more) | No Tiered Discounts (Simple Fixed/Percentage only) |
Layout | Full Page or Section | Section Layout Only |
Complexity | Advanced styling & logic | Minimal settings for rapid deployment |
How to Configure
Select Products: Choose the items available for the mix-and-match offer.
Set Discount: Apply a single, straightforward discount rule (e.g., "15% off the total").
Embed: Since this supports Section Layout only, copy the Bundle ID and add the "Dynamatics Bundle Kit" block to your desired page via the Shopify Theme Editor.
Main Features:
Dynamic Pricing: Supports fixed amounts, percentage discounts, or tiered pricing rules.
Flexible Layouts: Choose from grids, carousels, or list views to match your store's design.
Smart Logic: Define minimum/maximum item requirements or specific product rules.

1. Create Your Bundle
First, define the type of bundle you wish to offer and configure its contents within the app dashboard.
A. Choose Bundle Type Select one of the following bundle options:
Pre-built: A fixed set of products sold together.

2. Enable the Dynamatic Bundles Script
To ensure bundles display correctly on your live storefront, you must activate the app embed in your Shopify theme.
Steps to Enable:
Go to your Shopify Admin > Online Store > Themes.
Click Customize on the theme where you want the bundle to appear (this can be your live theme or a draft).
In the left sidebar, click the App Embeds icon (usually the third icon down).
Locate the block named “Dynamatic Bundles” and toggle it ON.
Click Save in the top right corner.
⚠️ Important:
Bundles will not appear on your site unless this script is enabled. If you switch themes in the future, you must repeat these steps to enable the App Embed on the new theme.
3. Publish Your Bundle
Once your bundle is configured and the script is enabled, you are ready to go live.
Select Placement: Choose the specific pages or zones where the bundle should appear.
Final Review: Confirm all product selections and pricing rules are correct.
Preview: Check the bundle on your storefront to ensure it looks and functions as expected.
Go Live: Click the Publish button.
Your bundle is now active and visible to your customers!
Best Practices & Helpful Tips
To maximize the effectiveness of your bundles and ensure a smooth customer experience, consider these recommendations:
Always Preview First: Before publishing, use the preview function to confirm that the bundle displays correctly on your specific theme.
Optimize Visuals: Use high-quality images and clear, concise product titles within the bundle to drive higher conversion rates.
Incentivize Adoption: Offering even a small discount can significantly increase the "take rate" of a bundle compared to full-priced items.
Strategic Placement: Position your bundles in high-traffic zones, such as your most popular product pages or dedicated landing pages, to ensure visibility.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
If your bundle isn't appearing or functioning as expected, check for these frequent setup errors:
Script Not Enabled: The most common issue is forgetting to toggle ON the “Dynamatic Bundles” app embed in your Shopify Theme Editor.
Theme Mismatch: Ensure you are publishing the bundle to the same theme where you enabled the script (e.g., enabling it on a Draft theme but checking the Live theme).
Section Conflicts: Avoid removing or renaming specific theme sections where the bundle is targeted to appear, as this can break the placement logic.
Incompatible Rules: Review your product combinations and discount rules to ensure they don't conflict with existing Shopify discounts or logic.
Quick Pre-Publish Checklist
Run through this final check before hitting the Publish button:
Configuration: Are all bundle products selected and pricing rules defined?
Type Selection: Is the correct bundle type (e.g., Pre-built vs. Builder) selected?
Script Enabled: Is the “Dynamatic Bundles” app embed toggled ON?
Theme Verification: Have you verified the correct theme (Live vs. Draft)?
Visual Check: Has the bundle been previewed and approved?
