Mix and Match Widget
The Mix and Match Widget empowers merchants to create customizable product bundles. Instead of forcing a pre-set bundle on customers, this widget allows shoppers to select multiple items from a curated group based on their own preferences. It is a powerful tool for increasing Average Order Value (AOV) by incentivizing bulk purchases through dynamic discounts.
Playbook
"Stop forcing rigid bundles on your customers. With Mix and Match, let shoppers build their own perfect package while you instantly boost Average Order Value (AOV) through dynamic, volume-based savings."
The "Why" & The Metrics
Primary Metric Impact: Average Order Value (AOV) and Conversion Rate (CR).
The Psychological Trigger: Goal Gradient Effect (customers see visual progress toward better discounts) and Autonomy (customers prefer choosing their own combinations).
Best Fit Industries: Fashion (outfits), Beauty (skincare routines), Food & Beverage (flavor packs), and Supplements (custom stacks).
Strategic Use Cases (The "Plays")
Play #1: The Quick Win (Activation)
The Concept: A simple "Starter Kit" offer to get first-time buyers to purchase more than one item.
The Logic: Removes decision fatigue by offering a simple flat discount for bundling any items.
Configuration Strategy:
Trigger: Show on Product Landing Pages or Homepage.
Key Setting: Bundle Type = Fixed; Discount Type = Percentage (e.g., 10%).
Copy/Creative Idea: "Build Your Starter Kit – Save 10% when you bundle."
Play #2: The Profit Maximizer (Upsell/Cross-sell)
The Concept: A "Buy More, Save More" tier structure to push cart value higher.
The Logic: Leverages the Goal Gradient effect; customers will add "just one more" item to unlock the next discount tier.
Configuration Strategy:
Trigger: High-traffic collection pages.
Key Setting: Bundle Type = Dynamic; Method = Tiered (e.g., Buy 2 get 10%, Buy 5 get 20%).
Copy/Creative Idea: "Stock Up & Save: Unlock 20% off when you buy 5 items."
Play #3: The Brand Builder (Retention & Experience)
The Concept: A highly personalized "Curated Routine" where customers pick specific variants.
The Logic: Enhances the shopping experience by offering flexibility, reducing friction for returning customers who know what they like.
Configuration Strategy:
Trigger: Returning Audiences or specific product categories.
Key Setting: Product Specific Discount (apply specific discounts to high-margin items within the bundle)
Copy/Creative Idea: "Refill Your Routine: Mix and match your favorites."
Pro-Tips & Constraints
Smart Constraint: For Static Discounts, the discount is only applied when all required products in the bundle are added to the cart. Adding more of a single product will not trigger additional discounts.
Integration Note: Currently optimized for Webpages (Landing Pages/Homepages). Full Cart integration is planned for future releases.
Optimization Tip: Use the Tiered Bundle logic to visually guide customers. They will see visual progress bars or indicators showing how many more items are needed to unlock the next reward level.
Why Use It?
Boost AOV: Encourage bulk purchases by offering savings on larger orders.
Personalization: Customers aren't locked into rigid bundles; they build their own combinations.
Seamless Experience: Discounts are calculated and visible directly on the page, providing transparency.
Flexibility: Works effectively on Webpages and Carts.
Discount Logic Models
The widget supports diverse discounting strategies to fit your campaign needs. You select these during configuration:
1. Fixed Bundle
How it works: Applies a simple discount to the total bundle.
Options: Percentage (%) or Fixed Amount ($) off.
2. Dynamic Bundle
This mode unlocks advanced logic types:
A. Static Discount:
A fixed discount applied when a specific combination is purchased.
Example: "Buy these 3 specific products to get 20% off."
Note: All required products must be in the cart for the discount to apply .
B. Tiered Bundle Discount (Buy More, Save More):
Discounts increase as the customer adds more items.
Example: Buy 2 items = 10% off; Buy 5 items = 20% off.
Dynamic: The widget automatically updates the discount tier as quantity increases .
C. Product-Specific Discount:
Targeted discounts applied to individual items within the bundle, regardless of the total bundle size.
Example: "Magnesium Spray" gets 15% off, whether you buy 1 or 3 .
